To help achieve good coverage, MeshCore, the system used by this mesh, requires repeaters, you are more than welcome to add one and administer it yourself, the best locations are usually high up with good views of the surrounding area, these don't need access to mains power as all the devices compatible with MeshCore can run off batteries.
Active Repeaters
The following repeaters are currently active on the mesh at this time:
- Anzio Catterick: built from a RAKWireless WisBlock and fitted into a zerofox3D Hermes case using a Paradar outdoor antenna and charged from solar panel and located at my home address (repeater is now live)
- m1sde_repeater: operated by Andy in Richmond at his home QTH, in an awkward spot and has not been heard by Anzio Catterick as a zero-hop neighbour, hardware unknown
- YM-Catterick: Operator unknown at this time but is routing traffic to Anzio Catterick, included as part of the Richmondshire Mesh due to being in the area, Anzio Catterick should hear this as zero-hop as it is often appearing as the last repeater in the chain for some users originating in Manchester and West Yorkshire, hardware unknown
Planned repeaters
The following repeaters are planned for the mesh (subject to permissions and funds)
- CRDARS Hudswell: If possible due to the height of the location and the fact there is a mast already on the building I would like to put a MeshCore repeater here (something I may consider including as part of a talk), this would most likely be an identical unit to the Anzio Catterick repeater, a repeater here would improve coverage to Richmond from the south, this of course is subject to the radio club agreeing to this.
If you're planning on putting a repeater on the mesh or you have done so do let me know and I'll publish it here so we have an idea of what repeaters are on the mesh and the rough coverage area
